What sets our ABA therapy apart from others ?

The Components of Our ABA Program

Supervision

All of Behavioral Stepping Stones team members are assessed and monitored weekly by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Clinical Director Misty Perez Estevez.  This provides our team with a sense of unity and cohesiveness that cannot be achieved by larger organizations.

Training

All of Behavioral Stepping Stones team members are fully trained by our lead Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Misty Perez Estevez while additional BCBAs

provide support, monitor progress, and provide ongoing training for the duration of the program. This establishes a common treatment method, where everyone is working together to support each client.

Programming

Each and every clients program plan is created after a detailed assessment has been conducted by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and is tailored to the child’s specific deficits and skills. Family and learner preferences are given priority in determining treatment goals. Generalization tasks are also built into the program to ensure performance of skills in multiple environments. This allows our team to create a treatment plan that is unique to each individual client.

Functional Programming

Selected goals are always medically beneficial and functional to the individual and increase or enhance his/her quality of life. Additionally, a mix of behavior analytic therapies in used so that the child has an opportunity to learn in different ways. This expands the usefulness of our therapy across multiple facets.

Data Collection

Data on skill acquisition and behavior reduction is recorded daily by every team member and analyzed monthly by our BCBAs to measure the progress of the individual and provide information for program planning. This ensures every treatment plan stay current and relevant.

Family Training

Family members are provided with training in order to teach and reinforce skills. They are also involved in both the planning and review process. This enables caretakers to continue the treatment of their children at home.

Meetings

Team meetings are held weekly to maintain consistency, identify pertinent issues and discuss progress. Family meetings are held monthly to update family members on progress, provide additional training, and identify problem areas. This ensures everyone is on the same page 24/7.

Location Options

Autism doesn’t affect just one area of your child’s life, so ABA shouldn’t be confined to only one location. By utilizing multiple ABA therapy locations, Behavioral Stepping Stones can help you and your child address concerns in different areas.

While home-based therapy allows our team members to provide treatment in everyday situations in your home, center-based therapy allows us to perform ABA in a structured environment in our centers. Each location offers unique benefits.

  • Home-based ABA provides a great way to teach skills that your child uses at home. For example, it is beneficial for teaching bedtime routines and toilet training.

  • Center-based ABA provides your child with a structured environment in which he or she learns a variety of important skills. If your child will soon enter school, this approach can help him or her adjust to the routine of going to a set location to learn.

Although the locations are different, you can count on two constants: Your child will receive highly effective, evidence-based ABA therapy from our experienced team and you will be involved throughout the entire process.
